eEuroparts.com®, a leading retailer of European auto parts, announced today that they will field a second Audi RS 3 LMS TCR entry in the upcoming IMSA Continental Tire 240 at the Glen. The car is owned and operated by eEuroparts.com Racing, a division of eEuroparts.com. The racing team is currently 3rd in season championship points in the IMSA Continental Tire TCR series. The 2018 eEuroparts.com racing season is presented by ROWE Motor Oil, a leading manufacturer of original equipment oils, lubricants, and chemicals.
The new entry will be car #12 and piloted by Tom O’Gorman and Kenton Koch for the upcoming race. “We are extremely excited to send out our new entry with two very experienced drivers in Tom and Kenton. They both bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and speed behind the wheel.” The second entry for the team will feature a new patriotic livery for the upcoming race at Watkins Glen International design by Rabid Wraps.
Tom O’Gorman, also known as “Tomo,” is a 26-year-old American racing driver from Cincinnati, OH, in his third year of professional racing. He began his motorsports career with SCCA autocross events, eventually earning a total of 5 National Championships. After successfully crowdfunding his entry into professional racing in 2015, Tom went on to win the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge TCB Championship and finish 3rd in the 2017 TCA Championship. Tom is currently competing in a full season of the PWC Touring Car A division as a driver for Honda Performance Development in a 2017 Honda Civic Si, where he leads the championship points.
“It’s incredibly exciting to be a part of this new entry for Watkins Glen,” O’Gorman tells. “Between the experience of the eEuroparts.com Racing team, and being teamed with Kenton Koch, who is fast and smart in everything he drives, I think all the right pieces are in place to have a successful weekend. I’m so grateful to eEuroparts.com Racing for the opportunity to be involved. They’re a young team in this paddock, but they have immense experience across the team members as a whole. This is my first foray into Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge competition – the endurance format, sharing the car, and a different kind of multi-class racing will all be a new experience and I’m very much looking forward to it.”
Kenton Koch is an American racing driver with a 66% winning percentage over the past 6 years, including four consecutive championships and two close seconds. In 2016, he won the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in Prototype Challenge. The 23-year-old is currently competing in the IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda. Kenton actively promotes organ donation with Donate Life America in support of his mom who received a heart transplant. He’s also entering his final year as a student at California State University as he pursues his bachelor’s degree in Business. For more info visit kentonkochracing.com.
“Being partnered with Tom O’Gorman, a front wheel drive expert, will be a treat”, says Koch. “He’s a true professional as well as an awesome person to be around. He will be someone the team will be leaning on to extract everything out of the RS 3.” Koch is no stranger to front wheel drive but last competed with Imoto in their Mazdaspeed 3 during the 2013 season. “Additionally I’m extremely excited to be partner with Matt Moran and the eEuroparts.com Racing team. The team has worked very hard to put together a competitive customer racing team and their current entry has been competitive in all three races this season.”
