This is a big weekend for us, as we’re rolling out our second car for Saturday’s Continental Tire 240 at Watkins Glen International. At the time of writing this, we’re sitting in 3rd place with the #10 car, and we’re shooting for podiums now that we’ve got both the speed and the manpower to effectively target the top of the leaderboard. With a little bit of Shake n’ Bake two-car team strategy and some luck, we are confident in our upcoming 4hr enduro. For more info on the team fielding the second car and its new patriotic livery, check out this link: https://www.imsa.com/press-releases/062018/eeuropartscom-racing-field-second-car-upcoming-imsa-continental-tire-240
To watch the race live, tune in to IMSA.tv on Saturday June 30 at 1:45pm (EDT).
Grab some of your buddies and a few of your favorite beverages, and settle in to some world class American touring car racing. If you aren’t set up to stream the internet to your TV set, set your reminders or DVR to Fox FS1 on Sunday July 8th at 7:30am (EDT) to catch all the action. If you’re in the Watkins Glen NY area and are coming out for the race weekend, stop by and say hi. Starting Friday, there will be a lot going on besides our race, including the Porsche GT3 Cup challenge, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, and IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship!
As you can tell, we are debuting the car with a special edition patriotic livery, as the 4th of July is right around the corner. Huge props go out to Darius and Kevin of Rabid Wraps for coming and busting this out so quickly, it came out so nice that it’ll be a shame to peel it off in a few weeks to go back to our standard team colors. To give a little insight, nearly every car on the grid is fully re-wrapped every few races, with partial re-wraps happening every race.
Touring car racing at this level is extremely abusive to these cars, as they are constantly pummeled with flying tire rubber, extreme heat, abundant chemicals, and the rigors of thousands of miles of packing and unpacking. After the next two races (Watkins Glen, NY and Mosport, Canada), this wrap will most likely be completely shot, but for now it looks completely mint (enjoy it while you can).
We put together this short video to show what goes into something like this, these are nearly two full days compressed into a few minutes. Have a great weekend and wish us luck!
