It’s every mechanic’s fear. You’re under a car, getting ready to remove a bolt, and suddenly your wrench yields. You just rounded (or even worse, snapped) off a bolt. Your next couple hours will no longer be spent proceeding with your task, rather you will be cursing and struggling with trying to remove the fastener that will eventually make it into your nightmares. We’ve all been there.
To combat these situations, it’s always a great idea to spray some kind of penetrating oil on all the bolts and fasteners you are preparing to remove, and let it seep in. Penetrating oil dissolves rust and is designed to creep and penetrate into the rusty shackles that imprison stuck bolts in their various nuts. After a few minutes, it replaces the rust with a smooth flowing lubrication that lets you back the bolt out with ease.
eEuroparts now carries a line of rust penetrating products by Wurth, a high quality Swiss company. Rost off (Rost is German for rust) is a high performance penetrating lubricant with some really interesting features. The chemists and engineers there targeted existing high-volume penetrating oils such as PB Blaster, Kroil, and WD40, and have released some truly impressive products that are gaining fans all over the world. Here’s the catch, they don’t sell this stuff in stores because of how strong it is, so next time you need a can of rust buster, consider us! Here’s what we have to offer.
Rost Off 25
The original, and the basis for the rest of the Rost Off Line. Legal in CA.

Rost Off Max Ice
All the same benefits of a high creep, high water displacement penetrating oil with one amazing new feature, Ice. Rost Off Max Ice is designed to freeze stuck nuts and bolts cryogenically, shock cracking the rust bonds with micro fissures. These tiny cracks in the rust allows the penetrating oil to seep in even faster, and more efficiently. Once the oil has fully infiltrated the stuck bolt, it will eat away all the rust and the rusty bolt will be free. If you have a blowtorch handy, spraying the fasteners down with this, waiting a minute, and hitting it with heat…nothing will be able to stand in your way! The nozzle on Rost Off Max Ice is designed so that your finger is not at risk of being frozen by the spray. Legal in CA.
Rost Off Extra (w/PTFE)
Another interesting approach is the addition of PTFE, making Rost Off Extra a favorite among shops and backyard mechanics. Adding PTFE (Teflon® is a DuPont tradename you may have heard of, that’s PTFE) makes this product an excellent lubricant as well as just a penetrating oil. Use it to free up stuck bolts, but also use it on light duty chains, joints and hinges, mechanical assemblies, lock tumblers that have a tendency of freezing. This product contains no Ozone depleters. This product is also 19oz, compared to around 10oz for the other Rost-Off products. Not legal in CA.
‘Low VOC’ Rost Off 48

It’s important to note that this stuff isn’t your average, inert WD40. Be careful when using Rost Off. Use only in a well ventilated area, and DO NOT breathe it in! Also keep away from sparks or fire. Keep it out of your eyes, and wear gloves. It’s serious stuff.
