Not very long ago, a huge event went down in the Rochester Fairgrounds. We had not one, or two…but THREE teams competing in different classes there. Pretty up and down for these guys it’s gotta be said, but that’s racing. We’re surprised no SAABs of ours showed up to this….in any case, what a show, here are their experiences! Marcel Belperron ———————————————————————————————— My plan for this year had been to use my Saab 900 to compete in SCCA RallyX and NEHA Hillclimbs. However, there was a change of plans when I bought a 1987 BMW 325i a couple weeks ago. My new plan was to use my 900 for hillclimbs and the BMW for rallyX. This past Saturday I put the BMW on the trailer and headed to the Rochester Fairgrounds RallyX. This would not only be my first time out in the BMW but also my first time
This past week had B25 Racing’s BMW 325i at the high desert race track know as Willow Springs for a race car “test ‘n tune” day. We shared “Big Willow” (the facility’s larger 2.5 mile circuit) with around 50 other racers, including mostly Porsches but a few BMWs, spec Miatas, and Radicals. The hot spring day had temperatures in the mid-90s, which had engines working overtime and tires overheating. The result was a lack of grip and lap times several seconds slower than normal. The weather tested our vehicle as well – on one of the first runs a radiator hose partially disconnected, spraying the vehicle with water, but luckily we were able to get the vehicle back in before temps rose much. Once everything cooled and was reconnected (and other hose clamps tightened), we were able to get back on track. Later in the day we tweaked suspension settings,
Dear Valued Customers, On Sunday we hosted what we hope to be the first annual eEuroparts.com Swedish and German swap meet and drive-in. Even with the threat of rain, customers and vendors from as far away as Maine and Pennsylvania made the trip to our headquarters in Windsor, CT. Based on the number of $25 credits issued, I can say we had between 150 and 200 total attendees. Together we bought and sold our junk, ate some burgers and hot dogs, and looked at all of the great rides customers drove to the event. The weather held out and it turned out be a great day. Some of the comments we heard were surprising: “I didn’t even know you guys were right here in Windsor”, “I didn’t know you had this many parts in stock”, “I didn’t know we could come pick up our orders if we needed to do

At a recent Optima Batteries ChumpCar World Series race weekend held at the Autobahn Country Club, Team Failcar fielded two classic Saab 900 Turbos. Although both cars succumbed to mechanical failure, one car managed to ride near the top of the leader board long enough for teams to notice and perhaps worry about the car’s potential. While the team correspondents scour the thesaurus for other ways to convey failure for the full race report, enjoy some fine wheel to wheel racing footage from the start of the race.
