Motul Oil for VW Cars – Find the Best Motul Oil for Your Car

Motul Oil for VW - Better Performance, Improved Temperature Resistance for Your Volkswagen

Motul is one of the leading manufacturers of engine lubricants and other automotive fluids in the industry today. The company is known for continually developing new technologies and improving its range of products. This is a reputation that they’ve carefully cultivated since the 1950s and earlier. Finding the right Motul oil for your Volkswagen can help you prolong the lifespan of your vehicle but also improve its performance. Join us as we take a look at some of the most popular engine lubricants Motul has to offer for the Volkswagen Group.

The Volkswagen Group

What started as a project to create the first people’s car back in the early 1900s, grew to become one of the largest car manufacturing operations in history. The VW group has spread its influence all over the world.

During the last 40 years of its existence, this growing conglomerate has acquired some of the most prestigious brands, that the automotive industry has to offer. Badges such as Audi, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Bentley, and others have, over time, become a part of this massive family.

One of the positive byproducts of such a diverse portfolio of brands is the sharing of design DNA. As a result, Audi, VW, and several other brands within the group share the same platforms, engines, and more! Even brands such as Porsche that run unique engine designs, still use the same or very similar lubricants. Motul, being one of the largest manufacturers of automotive lubricants, offers a complete range of engine oils and other fluids for the VW Group.

8100 Series Motul Engine Oil

Motul 8100 series of engine oils represent an important leap in Motul’s automotive segment. Modern car engines have become increasingly fine-tuned to meet high-performance norms, all while being highly efficient.

Such performance is made possible by advanced engineering and manufacturing technologies, both of which are something the Volkswagen Group knows all about. After all, they’ve built the Bugatti Veyron as a proof of concept and are yet to earn a single dollar on one of these cars. That should paint a good enough picture of what VW is capable of doing.

The downside to having such sophisticated engines is the need for specialized lubricants. Every brand out there has their own requirements when it comes to engine lubrication and rightfully so. What Motul has achieved with the 8100 series is nothing short of impressive.

The 8100 range of oils covers a whole list of car manufacturers and their requirements, including some pretty specific standards. As far as the Volkswagen group goes, Motul offers the following 8100 series oils.

Motul 8100 X-Clean 5W40

Motul’s 8100 X-Clean 5W40 oil is a fully synthetic blend designed to be used in modern gasoline and diesel engines that match the Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6 emissions regulations. What makes this particular blend interesting is the fact that it comes with stronger detergents that add to the overall maintenance of the engine as well as the reduction of residual buildup in critical areas.

Aside from that, the X-Clean series also brings improved oil film protection, meaning that each engine component gets coated and protected even if the engine is cold. That makes those cold starts far less abrasive.

Porsche insists on extreme shear resistance per their A40 standard, and needless to say, 8100 X-Clean 5W40 meets and exceeds those requirements. In case you’re running one of the older VW diesels, you can use this oil as a Volkswagen 505 00 and Volkswagen 505 01 equivalent.

Motul 8100 X-Clean 5W30

Although similar to the oil we’ve just mentioned, Motul 8100 X-Clean 5W30 is a more general-purpose blend oriented towards bringing high lubricating properties and improved high-temperature resistance. Although the 5W40 and 5W30 are very similar in terms of performance and features, they bring to the table. These two oils meet the requirements of different VW, Audi, and Porsche engines.

Motul 8100 X-Max 0W40

Last but not least, we have the 8100 X-Max 0W40 engine oil. This is a fully synthetic blend that brings higher SAPS content compared to the X-Clean series we’ve just talked about. Higher SAPS content goes hand in hand with this oil’s main purpose, which is used in powerful gas and diesel engines. X-Max offers improved lubrication, higher engine protection, and even improved fuel economy compared to certain reference oils.

It is Porsche A40 compliant, meaning that it brings that improved shear resistance as well as several other benefits indicated by this standard. If you’re looking for something that can handle the power of your large displacement engine while offering advanced protection at the same time, X-Max is the way to go.

Motul’s Volkswagen Specific Series

Aside from the highly versatile 8100 series, Motul also produces specific engine lubricants for Volkswagen. The Specific 508 00 509 00 0W20 is a high performance, fully synthetic oil that was specifically designed to match the VW’s 508 00 509 00 lubrication standards

Meant for use in the latest generation of Audi and VW engines, both diesel and gasoline, this oil is all about keeping the engine protected while offering improved fuel economy. Namely. Motul claims a 1.5% improvement over a 5W-30 reference oil, which may not sound like a lot but actually is. Additionally, this oil also meets Porsche’s C20 standards, which require high oil film resistance and engine protection.

Motul DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid – When There’s No Room for Compromise

Motul DOT 5.1 brake fluids are a perfect choice for those who want a modern, performance-oriented brake fluid. Designed to work with the latest ABS systems, the DOT 5.1 brake fluids easily penetrate all the nooks and crannies of the ABS, allowing it to kick in slightly faster and achieve overall better response times. On top of that, you can also count on a higher boiling point, which gives you more headspace in heavy braking situations.
