Swedish Car Day 2018 photo gallery is UP!

Swedish Car Day 2018

Swedish Car Day falls in early fall every year in Brookline Massachusetts, a high end suburb of Boston.  Featuring the perfect mix of upscale ivy covered stone walls, hard to navigate roads, and beautiful vintage and modern cars, Swedish Car Day 2018 was a huge hit for everyone that made the trip out.  With several groups of people from all around the American northeast, it’s really impressive to see the coming together of different groups of people and cars underneath the unifying blue and yellow flag.  The eEuroparts booth was buzzing all day, but even still we managed to get out and take some photos.  Enjoy the official eEuroparts.com Swedish Car Day 2018 Photo Gallery [here].

Vintage Volvo’s like these old Amazon coupes and PV544’s crowd in for their moment to shine (or not).

Swedish flags are ample, however the Saab 9000 section shrinks more and more every year despite our best efforts to keep them on the road.

You can’t help but appreciate the packaging on this vintage B16B engine (no, not the Honda!).  Dual side-draft SU carbs are a feature, as well as a chain that runs from the interior to a radiator blind that you can close in extreme cold to help the engine warm up.

Futility Motorsports brought their Saab 9-5 LeMons racer to hang out with their more shined-up kin in the lower field.

The Trionic Motorsports Saab 900 was on display with the very trick rally service stands in use.  This car ran successfully ran in the 2018 New England Forest Rally with an eEuroparts Trionic 5 flywheel trigger setup in the harshest conditions.

The entrance to the Historic Larz Anderson Auto Museum is always a centerpiece to the show.

While the number of 9000’s continue to dwindle, Classic Saab 900’s are always represented in force at most Swedish car shows.

Late model’s are represented in force with sporty setups and fresh coats of wax.

Riding up to Brookline in these vintage Saab 96’s is a thrill for the drivers, the passengers, and bystanders alike.

  1. I just got my 9th? Saab car – it’s a 96 Saab 9-5. I’ve been driving only Saab since my first car – a 1971 ’99, purchased used in 1973 or 4. I’ve had 900s, 9000s, a 9-3 and now a 9-5…I’m 63 and not sure where I’ll go from here, as quite frankly, I’m spoiled! Most of my cars were stick shift, but for this one, I’m back to an automatic. My Dad’s first Saab was a 1967 – we had so much fun with that car – I remember gas station attendants asking why he was pouring oil in the tank and he would say “oh, it runs better when you do this!” He went on to drive Saabs for the rest of his driving years, and my brother has had a few as well. It’s hard to let go…I was all set to buy a used Volvo this time around but a friend found me one more Saab :-). It had been in an accident and he runs a body shop…he had it repainted for me and everyone loves my “new” Glacier Blue car!

Thanks for all you do to help us keep our cars running well, continuing the tradition!

    1. Glacier blue is a great color! Glad we can be a help to keep your Saabs running right over the years, that’s really important to us.
