Is the E36 the ultimate do-it-all sports car? I’ve certainly put my BMW E36 328is (“Ralle36”) to the test this summer. After a great race at Southern Ohio Forest Rally, I was eager to go racing again. M1 Concourse, a new motorsports complex built in Pontiac, had an open track day coming up in July. I signed the rally car up and did nothing but bleed the brakes before the event. I used the wheels and tires that were on the car before I turned it into a rally car. 500 treadwear tires and gravel suspension setup don’t make for blazing lap times. It was huge fun to throw the rally car around the track even though the setup was far from optimal. They allowed me to run in the advanced group because of my rally experience. We had one lead-follow session behind a Hellcat before being set loose on
Winding out of the green and rocky mountains of Northern Vermont, the Winooski river has always played a vital role in fueling the nearby towns with mill power. Its rocky banks, steeped in history, provide a subtle backdrop to the town of Winooski. Founded before America by Ira Allen, brother of famous colonialist Ethan Allen, it’s obvious that the people in this town embrace their past. Yet, there’s a future here too. The town is lined with classy glass and metal apartment buildings, speckled in with converted mills, hip pubs, and most notably here, a variety of beautiful German cars that have been extensively customized to each individual owner’s personal taste. This was Wolfsgart 2017, where the attendees share the same respect for the classic past, while still always looking for the next new thing. Every year since 2010, Wolfsgart organizers have made the call for all German cars to
As we said last year, there are few shows that we look forward to every year as much as Carlisle. Saabs@Carlisle is a Saab show-within-a-show at the larger Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals in pastoral Carlisle, PA. In 2016 the Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals merged with the Carlisle Performance & Style, and it was a huge success. Sure, it rained for what seemed like the entire weekend, but it was still amazing. This year there is no rain in the forecast and the weather looks perfect. In 2017 we’re rolling with five people in two Saabs after bringing a Saab and – gasp! – a Volvo in 2016. The show ramps up on Friday, crescendos on Saturday, and tapers off on Sunday. People drive hundreds and hundreds of miles to attend, so many people need most of Friday and Sunday to travel. We’ll be there the entire time, soaking it
This event happened! Check out the recap at this link to read about what showed up this 2015, including a photo gallery August 23: Sunday: Swedish Car Day 2015. Every year hundreds of SAABs and Volvos make the cruise out to the beautiful Boston suburb of Brookline, Massachussetts to show off the best Sweden has to offer. Expect rows and rows of classic and modern cars dating back to the 60’s up to current. The event is held at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum which is worth the trip in it’s own right, we hope the weather is as good as it was last year! We will be there with our big white eEuroparts.com tent giving away free website credits to the amount of $15 a pop. If you don’t have an account, not a problem, one will be created for you. It’s our way of saying thank you for
Wow, Just wow. Well done guys. That goes out to all the Staff and Volunteers at Wolfsgart 6.0 in Burlington VT this past weekend, and all the show goers that brought great rides and behaved themselves. What an amazing show. For us, this was one for the books. If it wasn’t on your radar this year, make sure you pencil it in for 2016. eEuroparts rolled in Friday night to set up camp and get ready for the events to come. The chill atmosphere Friday night got us buzzed for what was coming in the next two days. If you’re looking for the best of the VW World (and some other Germanic countries), Wolfsgart is the show for you. From air cooled Kombi Busses to MKVII GTI’s the variety was never ending. Wolfsgart 2015 was everything that you could expect from a show that took place in the Green Mountains.
